Kick-Ass Cajun Chicken Thigh Burger

These Cajun burgers have become a personal family favourite. Rarely do we have a BBQ where these don’t make an appearance and the beauty with burgers is they’re yours to style however you please! Don’t think that these are all about hot spice and putting you in an uncomfortable sweat, hints of mild spices just make your tongue happy!

Ingredients

  • 2 x Springfield Free Range or Organic Boneless Chicken Thighs
  • 2 teaspoons Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried Oregano/Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 1 tablespoon Natural Yoghurt

Method

  1. Lets keep things simple. Add all of the above ingredients into a large mixing bowl and mix together to coat the thighs with the marinade. If possible, get this done the day before and leave them in the fridge overnight. Take them out of the fridge about an hour before you start cooking.
  2. You’ll want toppings, sides, and sauces all ready before you start cooking so that family/kids/friends can be salivating with their prepped burger buns waiting for the chicken!
  3. Get your barbecue or griddle pan to a good temperature. You want to have full control of the cooking so medium heats are best – something which will give the thighs a light char and allow you to cook the chicken all the way through. Depending on the heat and size of the thighs cooking times vary but about 10 minutes on each side should be good.
