Farmhouse Pickle with Herefordshire Ale
A sweet, tangy farmhouse pickle a favourite with ploughmans lunches, made with a lovely selection of our garden fruit and vegetables, with the addition of black treacle and a pint of Herefordshire ale giving it a full-bodied, intense flavour.
Made using a traditional family recipe this Farmhouse Pickle is very versatile and a great accompaniment to enjoy with cold meats and game, salads, sandwiches and cheeses, in fact any meal, and makes a delightful addition to homemade pasties and pork pies.
Ingredients: Onions, Swede, Carrots, Cauliflower, Sugar, Vinegar (barley, sodium sulphite), Apples, Dates, Ale (barley), Black Treacle (Sulphur Dioxide/Sulphites), Tomatoes, lemon Juice, Spices (mustard), Salt

Pam preserved as much of this as she could in jams and preserves and gifted these to friends and family. The response she received encouraged her to begin selling the preserves which has gained momentum and established a truly wonderful artisanal family business which we’re proud bring to you through Springfield.
