Free Range Chicken Gizzards
£6.93 per kg
Make a flavoursome and nutritious Chicken bone broth using our Free Range Chicken Gizzards. They’re a natural source of protein, vitamin B and are naturally low in fat. Our Chicken gizzards are also ideal for making a tasty Chicken stock.
The gizzard is a digestive organ found in poultry, which is used to grind up the foods the birds eat. Add your gizzards to your stock pot alongside Free Range Chicken Necks and Free Range Chicken Carcass to create a health promoting broth. Ideal for when you’re feeling a bit under the weather.
Our Organic and Free Range Chickens live an active life. Therefore we can guarantee our birds are well exercised and lean. This improves the overall taste and texture of our meat.
We pack all our gizzards with approximately 4 per pack. This number of items supplied is a guideline. A minimum weight is always guaranteed. However number of items per pack is an approximate. This is because our chickens vary in weight week by week. Want more info? Read more, here.

How we recommend cooking
Take product out of the fridge and allow to come up to room temperature 20 minutes before cooking.
Chop a handful of carrots, celery with leaves, garlic cloves, 1 large onion, fresh parsley, 2 bay leaves, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and black peppercorns.
Add the gizzards and stock bones to the stock pot and add water to just cover the bones.
Bring to the boil and cover the pot and cook slowly for 8 hours. The longer the time given the more nutrients the stock will have extracted. If the water starts to get low, top up with boiling water if required. A slow cooker is also a good alternative so you don't need to attend the stock pot.
Whilst cooking, skim off any froth from the surface of the pot. Strain the pot, sieve and let it cool.
